Curriculum
At Emergence Schools, we have a robust academic program that takes into account the bilingual aspect of our Country (Cameroon). Emergence is one of the rare schools in Douala if not in Cameroon to offer a purely bilingual educational system. We offer: A Bilingual section (Nursery to Class 4), A French section (CM1 – CM2), and An Anglo-Saxon section (Class 5 – Class 6). Our curriculum integrates transdisciplinary programs, with 60% classroom work and 40% practical work, enabling pupils to become skillful inquirers, thinkers, communicators, open-minded and reflective personalities.
Teaching Methods
- Technology integration: Interactive smart boards, laptops and tablets for teachers and students, classroom audio systems
- Collaborative learning: Re-arranged classroom seating to encourage collaboration, exploration, sharing and development of ideas
- Practical emphasis: Focus on practical work, research, presentations (oral and written), reflection, sports and community service
- Continuous assessment: Supervised homework, continuous assessment and sequential examination before end-of-term exams
- E-learning platforms: Microsoft Teams with extra resources, practical examples, past questions and homework
